Laura Sweet joined SIT in March 2023 bringing nearly 20 years of experience in international and higher education. Prior to SIT, Laura worked in the Bowdoin College Education Department for over five years, managing student field placements and relationships with local schools. She also previously worked at CIEE for over 10 years, serving in various roles including Director of International Faculty Development Seminars and West Coast Institutional Relations Manager. Earlier in her career, Laura worked overseas as Student Affairs Manager at the School for Field Studies in Australia and coordinated a faculty-led field school in the Solomon Islands. Laura holds an MA in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute, an MA in Anthropology from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a BA in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder. As an undergrad, she studied abroad with SIT in Samoa and at Lincoln University in New Zealand. Laura is based near Portland, Maine.
