Welcome Message
The idea to name our group "Puffins" came during the
Sandanona Conference in 2018. A plenary speaker
presenting on environmental activism mentioned how
puffins arrange themselves in a way which may seem
random, but is in fact carefully choreographed in
reflection of their social dynamics. The birds separate
from each other seasonally, reuniting yearly, and they
also mate for life. Puffins spend much of the year
alone at sea, but they always come back together to
support each other and raise their young.
This particular puffinry would like to extend their thanks
to President Sophia Howlett and Dean Ken Williams,
and to the rest of the SIT community, for attending
and supporting our conference.
