Founded as the School for International Training in 1964, SIT was established to prepare future generations of leaders in education, training, and service. SIT was initially a training center for early Peace Corps volunteers.
SIT is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
