Student Veterans at SIT Graduate Institute

Are you a veteran considering graduate school? SIT values your experience, voice, and perspective.

Throughout its history, SIT has welcomed and valued the real-world experiences its students bring into the classroom.

Consider combining your military experience and leadership skills with the knowledge and tools gained through a master’s degree.

Lend your voice and perspectives in exploring where theory and practice intersect; the importance of intercultural collaboration; and how to create a peaceful and just society grounded in real-world experience.

Become an effective change-maker in critical fields such as sustainable development; TESOL; peacebuilding and conflict transformation; and international education.

Did you know?

  • SIT Graduate Institute is a Yellow Ribbon School. If you are 100% eligible for post-9/11 GI Bill educational benefits, you will qualify for an additional $10,000 scholarship from SIT.
  • To process your GI Bill educational benefits, SIT Graduate Institute will need a Certificate of Eligibility from your Veterans Affairs (VA) office. The VA gets this paperwork from your discharge form (DD214).
  • SIT grants gift aid based on a combination of need and merit. Average gifts range between $500 and $4,000.  Scholarships include a Veterans Service Award, which covers books and materials. See complete scholarships listing.
  • SIT Graduate Institute has its own chapter of Student Veterans of America. Members have participated in peace marches, movie nights, and have helped build awareness on campus and in the community.
  • SIT offers disability services and short term mental health counseling for students. Information and referral to community support services is also available.
  • We have personal relationships with local Veterans Affairs staff. SIT can refer students who want more information about accessing the network of veterans’ services to which they are entitled.
